Ms. Satwant Khanalia joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2007. As a career diplomat, she has served in various capacities in the Indian Missions in Washington DC and Paris and in the Ministry of External Affairs on the Nepal desk, Policy Planning & Research and as Chief of Staff to the Foreign Secretary.

Ms. Khanalia obtained a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana and a post-graduate degree in Business Administration (International Business) from University Business School, Panjab University Chandigarh.

She speaks Hindi, Punjabi, English and French. She likes to read, bake, watch Bollywood movies and travel.
