Back | Print

On the occasion of The 74th Republic Day, Consul General Satwant Khanalia unfurled the tricolour. CG read out excerpts from the President of India's address to the nation highlighting the humanist philosophy at the core of India’s Constitution, the importance of striving towards Gandhiji’s ideal of Sarvodaya, the critical role of women in achieving our full potential, India’s inclusive & ambitious approach in its G20 India Presidency, India’s first human space mission Gaganyaan, New Education Policy & the health and environmental benefits of millets.
Two groups - Little Indians and Sur Sadhna Group stirred the patriotic soul strings of the audience with melodic musical medleys.
It was also a celebration of Indian art- be it the wall mural by Bhuri Bai Ji as part of'Kathaa' or the display of paintings by ten Indian artists based in Hong Kong.
Attendees appreciated the #MadeinIndia goody bag with tricolour bags of Indian teas, a set of hand-painted coasters, and a ‘Cooking with Millets’ recipe booklet.
